Die Abführung über die Trommellager ist unzureichend, wie entsprechende Versuche mit Hochfrequenz-Papiertrockenanlagen gezeigt haben. Dabei scheiterte bereits die Ableitung des Laststromes über die Lager der Trocknerwalzen. Für eine zuverlässige Laststromableitung müßten daher wartungsintensive Schleifringe eingesetzt werden. Dabei bleibt die Gefahr bestehen, daß beim Auftreten geringster Übergangswiderstände die Trommel Spannung führt. Dies ist zum einen aus Arbeitsschutzgründen nicht zulässig und bewirkt zum anderen, daß die Trommel zu einer Sendeantenne wird.
