Description
Process for the production of phosphate fertilizers. It is already has been proposed for the manufacture of phosphate fertilizers from insoluble Phosphates of mineral origin instead of the expensive sulfuric acid, their acidic ones or to use neutral salts. However, it has been shown to do it that way does not succeed in practically possible quantities of the insoluble mineral To convert phosphates into the citric acid-citrate-soluble state. One also has already proposed in the decomposition of organic substances with the help of soluble ones of inorganic salts at the same time to add insoluble phosphate and to process it. By adding organic substances when treating the mineral rock phosphates with sulfuric acid salts it is possible to increase the solubility of citric acid achieve; that for the question of the assimilability and soil solubility of the phosphates but the particularly important solubility of citrate leaves much to be desired in this case as well left over.
It has now been shown that it is possible to treat the mineral Rock phosphates with soluble sulfuric acid salts in the presence of organic substances to increase the yield of citrate-soluble phosphates even further, if add small amounts to the reaction mixture besides the salts and the organic substances Amounts of free acid, in particular sulfuric acid, are added, namely amounts that as are necessary to decompose the carbonates contained in the rock phosphates. Laboratory tests have shown that by adding such a small amount of acid succeeds in increasing the citrate solubility of the manufactured product four times. When working on a large scale, the situation is much more favorable. The surprising effect of such a small amount of acid that only decomposes the There is a partial explanation for the carbonates present in the starting material in that the decomposition of the carbonates by mineral acid is an exothermic reaction is, which runs under strong heat development, and that developing in the process Carbon dioxide causes a loosening of the mass, which the implementation of the insoluble Phosphates under the action of sulfuric acid salts and as a reaction accelerator acting organic substances facilitated. For this reason it can in certain In cases it may be useful to add carbonate, such as calcium carbonate, to the starting material. especially to add.
As sulfates are those of the alkali metals and ammonium as well the soluble sulfates of the polyvalent elements are suitable. When using ammonium sulfate contains the mass in addition to soluble phosphate and carbonaceous components still soluble stick fabric.
As organic substances come into consideration z. B. horny substance, coal, sawdust, peat, skin and leather waste, etc. Also, for the same purpose, phosphates of organic origin that still contain organic substances, such as, in particular, defatted bones that still contain the glue substance, can be added to the mineral rock phosphates. The method is carried out roughly as follows: The well-ground natural phosphates are mixed with the organic substances and, if necessary, with soluble salts in the solid state. Then the salt solutions or, if the soluble salts have already been added to the dry: only water and the small amount of acid are added. The whole mass is then subjected to a temperature between 60 ° and 130 ° C, which is maintained for a shorter or longer period of time until the main reaction is over, which can be seen in the cessation of the strong guesswork that began at the beginning of the reaction You can then continue to heat until you get a dry product, but you can also be content with shorter heating and filter the solid mass from the excess liquid and re-ash the residue. Or you can heat until a light pulp is created, which solidifies by itself after the reaction is complete and, if necessary, in a familiar white se can be dried to a water content of 12 percent. Embodiments. 1. 53 kg of mineral Florida phosphate with 7 to 75 percent tricalcium phosphate, 20 kg of bone phosphate from the glue substance, which has only been degreased with steam. Bones still contained, 1 kg of ammonium sulphate with a content of 9.9 percent, dissolved in 1 kg of water, and 10 kg of sulfuric acid of 53 ° B6 are processed at a temperature of 50 to 100 °. After an hour the product still contains 30 percent moisture, which is reduced to 12 percent by drying.
Man erhält ioo kg eines 22,5 bis 23 Prozent lösliche Phosphörsäure, .1,7 Prozent ammoniakalischen Stickstoff und o,6 Prozent organischen Stickstoff enthaltenden Erzeugnisses.100 kg of a 22.5 to 23 percent soluble phosphoric acid are obtained, .1.7 percent ammoniacal nitrogen and 0.6 percent organic nitrogen containing product.
