Preparations for dressing seeds. It is known that alkali-soluble
organic compounds, which contain mercury in complex bound form, for pickling
let use of seeds. On the other hand, show salts of hydrocyanic acid as well
the ferrocyanic acid no fungicidal effect whatsoever, there is much more in the treatment
of the seeds with these bodies a clear decrease in the germination capacity can be observed.
The surprising observation has now been made that the fungicidal
Effect of these organic, complex mercury compounds, which in alkaline
Solution applied can be increased significantly if you use the same
used in a mixture with salts of hydrogen cyanide or ferrocyanic acid.
Nimmt man z.
If you take z. B. a 0.25 percent alkaline solution of p-cresol mercury,
that represented in a known way and with salt to a mercury content of
2o percent is set, and lets it act on stone fire spores for an hour,
so they are not completely killed off. You bring in the spurs
treatment on a suitable nutrient medium shows that part of the same
still germinated. If, on the other hand, you use a product that z. B. on ioo
Parts p-cresol mercury in the form of the sodium compound 6o parts ferrocyane potassium
contains, the spores are completely destroyed under the same conditions
so that no more germination of the same can be observed. One for comparison
produced i% solution of ferrocyanic potassium, on the other hand, did not show the slightest
Effect on the spores. If the ferrocyanic potassium is replaced by cyanopotassium, then
you get the same result.
Gerstenkörner behandelt, so gelangten nach io Tagen nur 94 bis 95 Prozent zur Auskeimung;
99 Prozent. If wheat or barley grains were treated with the aforementioned p-cresol mercury solution, only 94 to 95 percent germinated after 10 days; on the other hand, the germination power of the grains treated with the mixture was 98 to 99 percent.
