Description
Process for the preparation of copper chloride solution. Im patents; K1. well, is a method for dissolving copper and copper alloys with the aid of copper chloride, copper chloride or basic copper chlorides or copper oxychloride and described with the addition of small amounts of acid. It has now been found that Instead of hydrochloric acid and air, chlorine can be used with particular advantage. The advantage achieved by = the use of chlorine is mainly: that a considerable acceleration of the dissolution process due to the greater heat development entry.
Beispiel. The previously unknown and unforeseeable success, however, persists that when working in a neutral or weakly alkaline solution in the presence of sufficient table salt and copper metal or copper alloy or reducible Copper ore not, for example, copper chloride, but essentially in the solution copper chloride receives. The speed of dissolution here is approximately the same as when annealed copper oxide is dissolved in acid. Example.
Zoo 1 saline solution with a specific gravity of 1.15 will be approx Zoo g copper chloride is added and the material to be dissolved (copper, copper alloys, Copper ores or residues containing copper) in an agitator vat, depending on the shape or treated in a container provided with a sieve bottom, into which chlorine is introduced. Any acidic reaction can be eliminated by adding a little copper oxide. The flow of chlorine is regulated so that only a solution of copper chloride is obtained.
The process can be applied equally well to copper, copper-containing residues, Use copper ores and copper alloys. Instead of table salt, other alkali or alkaline earth chlorides are used.
