Elektrisches Bügeleisen. Elektrisch beheizte Bügeleisen werden gewöhnlich
durch einen Steckschalter mit oder ohne Ausschalter unter Strorri gesetzt. N'% ill
man den Strom ausschalten, so muß man dann entweder den Schalter betätigen oder
den Kontakt ganz abziehen. Beides ist unbequem und wird auch bei längeren Unterbrechungen
des-. Bügelns leicht vergessen, so daß eine t`berhitzung und ein Verbrennen der
Heizkörper leicht eintritt. Man hat dann selbsttätige Ausschalter angeordnet, «-elche
unterhalb des Griffes angebracht und durch einen beweglichen Teil des Griffes betätigt
wurden, so daß sie normal nur während der Bügelarbeit unter Strom stehen und zum
Zwecke des Anheizens hochkant aufgestellt werden müssen, wobei der als Kippkontakt
ausgebildete selbsttätige Schalter unter Stromschluß steht. Diese Einrichtung beseitigt
wohl die eingangs erwähnten Mißstände, besitzt dafür aber den Nachteil, daß der
Kippkontakt nicht nur der strahlenden Wärmeübertragung des Bügeleisens zu sehr .
ausgesetzt ist, sondern auch leicht durch äußere Einflüsse schädlich beeinflußt
wird, so daß er leicht versagt oder gar Kurzschluß bekommt und so die Gefahr noch
vergrößert. Gemäß der Erfindung werden diese Nachteile und Mißstände nun dadurch
beseitigt, daß der Kippkontakt vollständig und derart in das Innere des Handgriffes
eingebaut ist, daß er äußerlich gar nicht in Erscheinung tritt und so geschützt
ist, daß er weder durch Hitze noch durch Stoß oder sonstige Einflüsse beschädigt

Wie die Zeichnung zeigt, ist auf dem elektrischen Bügeleisen a mittels

aus Holz oder aus einem anderen geeigneten Material bestehende eigentliche Griff
d festsitzt. In dem letzteren ist nun in einer Aushöhlung e, welche von unten her
durch die Platte f verschlossen ist, der Quecksilberkippkontakt ä angeordnet. Derselbe
ist in den lagern lt beweglich und wird durch eine Feder i. so gehalten, daß das
in ihm befindliche Quecksilber die Pole der Stromzuleitung k in der gewöhnlichen
Stellung nicht verbindet. Nach oben tritt aus dem Griff d ein Druckknopf L heraus,
welcher so weit vorsteht, daß er beim Ergreifen des Bügeleisens durch die Handfläche
niedergedrückt werden muß. Durch diese seine Bewegung wird dann der -Kippkontakt
g derart nach unten gekippt, daß das in ihm enthaltene Quecksilber die beiden Pole
der Stromzuleitung k verbindet und dadurch Stromschluß herbeiführt. Das Bügeleisen
steht mithin so lange unter Strom, als man den Griff in der Hand hält. Sobald man
ihn losläßt, bewegt sich durch den Druck der Feder i der Kippkontakt g und damit
auch der Knopf l wieder zurück, und der Strom wird sofort unterbrochen. Will man
z. B. zum Anheizen das Bügeleisen längere Zeit unter Stromschluß lassen, so braucht
man es nur in der Weise, wie Abb. 2 zeigt, auf einer geeigneten Unterlage hochkant
zu stellen, dann fließt in dieser Stellung das Quecksilber von selbst auf die Pole
der Zuleitung k und ergibt damit Stromschluß. Die Stromzuleitung k führt
zum Steckkontakt na bzw. zum elektrischen Heizkörper und wird vorteilhaft durch
