Abstract

Low viscosity silicone compsns. which have been rendered hydrophilic are used in conjunction with addn. crosslinking hardeners for taking dental impressions which are used in making moulds for dental prostheses. USE/ADVANTAGE - The silicone compsns. give impressions of higher accuracy than the high water content gel a conventionally used, and show virtually no after-shrinkage so that the dimensions are accurately reproduced. The hydrophilic surface of the impression allows water-contg. modelling materials introduced into the impression to penetrate into the finest crevises of the impression so that a model of very high precision is produced from which prostheses of very high accuracy can be produced.
