Description

Process for cleaning fatty oils and fats. Fatter when treated Oils and fats with alcohol, methyl alcohol, acetone o. The like. Mixing with water Solvents for the purpose of removing free fatty acids, resins, bitter and slimy substances «-Not only earth the free fatty acids and the other substances that are removed should be included, but also 2 "reutral oil. Neutral oil as such is even in alcohol of 96 percent by volume and below as old as insoluble. Essential The situation is different, however, when one uses a crude oil with slightly diluted oil Alcohol o. The like. Treated. The free fatty acids contained in such a crude oil, in particular, however, the impurities present in the same, which come from resins, Mucilages and bitter substances exist, namely exert a significant influence on, left solubility ratios, so that now significant amounts of neutral oil can also be dissolved by alcohol that is not too dilute. This neutral oil will but withdrawn from its actual intended purpose and can only be used together with the less valuable free fatty acids are further processed.

It has now been found that when cleaning fats and oils with alcohol or the like Leaching with the stronger solvent is the same with the pond, but significant more dilute solvent precedes. Here the solvent must be like this Thrown heavily diluted, that it only contains the resins, mucous substances and bitter substances absorbs, on the other hand only a little free fatty acid and no neutral oil at all. During this pre-wash then mainly the substances are removed which the solution of the neutral oil in Alcohol from 9o to 96 percent by volume would favor. Then leave a second Wash with stronger, e.g. B. Alcohol of 9o to 96 percent by volume follow.

The more favorable result can be derived from the free fatty acid content Easily recognized in the residue of the alcoholic extract.

When treating an oil with a free fatty acid content of 1 percent with 96 percent alcohol without washing, the residue contained 12 percent free Fatty acid. First you did a wash with water and then left the alcohol wash follow, the fatty acid content had risen to ---- percent. With a pre-treatment with 4% alcohol the fatty acid content rose even more and amounted to 35%.

Another advantage of pretreatment is that both Neutral oil as well as the free fatty acid get a much purer consistency, than when washing immediately with a strong solvent.

Iran, for example, proceeds in such a way that the neutral oil is produced at a temperature from 3o ° C with alcohol from 4.o - # tol.-percent washes the alcoholic solution separates and then a second treatment of the oil with alcohol of 90 vol; percent can follow at a temperature of about 5o'C.

Claims (1)

PATENT CLAIM: Process for cleaning fatty oils and fats, characterized in that a pre-wash is first carried out with highly diluted alcohol or the like and then followed by a second wash with the same but more concentrated solvent.
