Abstract

The aircraft can take off and land vertically. It has a tractor propeller (30) mounted at the front end of the fuselage (40) and a pusher propeller (3) mounted at the tail end (1) of the fuselage. The front propeller is mounted so that it can be swung upwards through an angle of 90 deg whilst the rear propeller is mounted so that it can be swung downwards through 90 deg. Thus when taking off or landing the propellers exert a vertically upward thrust on the aircraft. The aircraft may be fitted with either one or two engines. USE - VTO aircraft with swivelling propeller at nose and tail end of fuselage.

Description

The invention relates to a vertical takeoff and landing Propeller plane that has no prepared runway needed.

Single-engine propeller aircraft are known, which Have propellers in front, and start vertically on the stern and land. Also known are two or four engine aircraft, which their engines on wings or booms, from the side Have fuselage. The engines on these aircraft including propellers for vertical or horizontal flight, respectively pivoted ninety degrees. The development of the rear starter was already back after testing the first samples set. The flight problems encountered proved turned out to be too serious. The second type of perpendicular starter, the swiveling of entire engines poses problems on. In addition, the wings on which the engines are attached, exposed to large loads. So far none of the above-mentioned high-flyers ready for series production developed.

The invention has for its object a practical solution for a vertical take-off and landing Find propeller plane. This task is fiction moderately solved in that the aircraft at the front end of the fuselage a train propeller, and a thrust at the rear end of the fuselage propeller. The propellers are, each individually, in propellers mounted on supports that are pivotally attached to the fuselage,  in such a way that the front propeller for vertical takeoff and Landing ninety degrees up from the aircraft's long axis can be pivoted, and the rear by ninety degrees below. The propellers are driven by the bearing axis of the propeller carrier guided the drive shaft which is driven by the motor via bevel gears, and, also via bevel gears, which drives the propeller. The Airplane can be equipped with two engines, so that one in front of and behind the cabin, or with one or two engines above or below the cabin. With the drive with two engines, the aircraft is set up in such a way that In the event of an engine failure at take-off or landing, the working motor takes over the propulsion of both propellers. There is a on the bearing axis of the propeller carrier Worm wheel into which a snail located in the fuselage enters engages, which is driven by an electric motor, causing the propeller carrier can be swiveled with the propeller. Compared to other high-flyers, the advantage is likely mainly in the higher speed and the larger Range. That aircraft with such an engine and propeller arrangement have very good flight characteristics can prove, the Dornier 335, the fastest propeller flight witness of the Second World War.
