Description
Process for the simultaneous manufacture of several bifocal lenses by cutting up a work piece. The present invention is a Process for the simultaneous production of several bifocal lenses by cutting of a work piece with two concentric, corresponding to the two partial lenses Zones. According to the invention, the damage to the work piece when splitting or Avoid cutting by first having a central opening and then through split lines that run from the edge to the central opening, is shared.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is for example is illustrated, namely: Fig. 1 is a view of the work piece and Fig. 2 a section along the line II-II of Fig. i.
Fig. 3 illustrates the arrangement of the cleavage lines, Fig. Q. a split off lens sector and Fig. 5 a work piece divided in the usual way.
Fig. 6 shows a work piece with three separating lenses without the middle one Breakthrough.
Up to now, the bifolcal lenses, which consisted of one piece, were manufactured -by the fact that the work piece is ground in the shape of a circular disc (Fig. 5) and then divided in the direction of a diameter, i denotes here that part which serves to see into the distance and 2 that which is intended for reading Part. Such a work piece expediently has a cup-shaped shape, such as this in cross section in -, IM. 2 is indicated. The part dedicated to reading becomes ground on the concave side of the workpiece. After the concave side of the workpiece is finished_: it will be after a diameter 3-3 in Fig. 5 shared; the lenses are made from each half in the form of the lines q. the fig. cut out. With the known method, only two lenses could be produced at one time. This made the lenses expensive and required considerable manufacturing Time.
According to the present invention, there can be three or more lens sectors cut from the workpiece (Fig. 6). However, there is a risk here that the lenses break at the intersection of the three cleavage lines, creating the workpiece damaged.
This disadvantage always arises when a any odd number of split lines is provided as these are not edge-to-edge cross the workpiece in a straight line, but only from the edge to the Run in the middle of the work piece.
From Fig. 5 it can be seen that when you move the workpiece along the line 3-3 cut in half with your glass cutter, it can be easily divided according to this split line can, as the latter goes straight through from one edge to the opposite one. However, if an odd number of cleavage lines are used, the cleavage line is broken in the middle and there is a possibility of reading certain part of the lens by jumping the glass in the direction of the gap is damaged beyond the center.
Another disadvantage of the single piece work piece is that from the manufacturing point of view in the middle of the latter there is a small one There is protrusion 5 (Fig. 5).
According to the invention, these difficulties should be avoided and a Means are created by means of which an odd number of lenses from one single work piece can be produced. the work piece in several Parts is divided without the risk of damaging any of these parts will. Each part can then be used to make a bifocal lens. In the end is removed by the invention of the projection located in the middle.
For the stated purpose, a hole or opening is first made 6 in the middle of the work piece (Fig. 3), useful before sanding any Curved surfaces in the workpiece. Then the same thing is processed in the usual way, d. H. one grinds the part i, which is intended to see into the distance. and the reading part a. The work piece is then broken down into individual sectors divided by the cleavage lines 7 (Fig.3). These lines extend from the edge of the Work piece up to its central hole or opening 6, and it is It is obvious that these sectors can then be separated without the the part serving for reading crumbles at the middle intersection of the split lines 7, as this can easily happen when the work piece is shown in Fig.6 Way is divided without the presence of the hole.
After a sector (Fig.3) has been cut off, the lens is cut (Fig. D) according to lines 8. It is evident that the one intended to read Part larger in a workpiece from which more than two lenses are obtained turns out as if only two lenses are cut out. The more sectors in the piece of work are present, the larger the part of the glass intended for reading will become; the distant part is also enlarged somewhat.
The order of the manufacturing stages can of course be changed, without changing the essence of the invention. For example, the middle hole attached to the workpiece before grinding, or it can also then be attached when the cam surfaces have been sanded.
The other side of the work piece can be sanded before the work piece is cut into the individual sectors or even after this happened. The finished lens can be from the sector before or after your grinding the other side. When the whole lens by the manufacturer can be made both sides before cutting out each sector to get finished. However, if the second page through the optician or salesperson is to be finally completed, it will be completed after you cut out the sector especially since the latter is sent by the manufacturer to the optician with only one Side ground curved surfaces will be passed. The optician will then make the second curve yourself according to the instructions.
