Das Neue besteht darin, daß auf die gereinigte, getrocknete und erhitzte Unterlage ein dünnes Häutchen von erhitztem Weichpech aufgetragen und hierauf der Belag heiß aufgebracht wird. Das neue Verfahren wird beispielsweise wie folgt ausgeführt: Die vorhandene harte Unterlage, z. Dann wird auf die noch heiße Unterlage auf 25 o bis 300'C erhitztes Weichpech in ganz dünner Schicht aufgebracht, das in die Poren der Unterlage eindringt und an deren rauher Oberfläche haftet. Dann wird mit der Hand oder mit Maschinen der neue Belag heiß aufgetragen. Dieser kann z. B. aus Asphalt bestehen, der sich mit dem Weichpechhäutchen so fest verbindet., daß eine Schicht von nur i/2 bis i cm Asphalt genügt, um einen durchaus widerstandsfähigen und dauerhaften Belag zu erzielen. Man kann aber auch Sand, Schotter, Schlacke sowie Sägespäne oder Torf verwenden, welche nach dem Misch- oder Bade- und Abtropfverfahren ebenfalls mit einem dünnen Weichpechhäutchen überzogen sind.
