Abstract

The appts. to deliver doses of a powder cleaning agent to an industrial washing machine has delivery holes (9) in the base (8) of the supply container (2). Catch plates (10) are at a gap below each hole (9), and scrapers (11) move against the catch plate (10) surfaces between them and the under side of the container base (8). The delivery holes (9) and the catch plates (10) are distributed symmetrically in relation to a vertical axis (6), round which a projecting finger rotates as the scraper mechanism (11). At least one agitator (13-15) is at the base (8) above the holes (2) to distribute the cleaning powder (18), with arms (14,15) rotating round the vertical axis (6). The delivery holes (2) are in a recessed trough (7) symmetrical round the vertical axis (6) at the base (8) so that the agitator (14) rotates in the trough (7). The holes (9) are arranged in three arcs in the trough (7) and the catch plates (10) form sectors in the circle round the axis (6). The spacing between the holes (9) and the plates (10), together with the powder delivery angle, are arranged so that, when the appts. is at rest, the passage is blocked between the powder container (2) and the flushing zone (3). The scraper mechanism (11) has a clip spring or the like to hold any residual powder on each rotation. An electro-motor (22) operates the agitator (13) and the scraper mechanism (11), particularly a split-pole motor with gearing reduction (23), with the drive shaft forming the vertical axis (6), in a closed block.
