Anastigmatic telescope and microscope. It is known in telescopes
with one consisting of a field lens and two each consisting of several cemented lenses
Lens groups compound eyepiece a dispersing lens group between the objective
and switch on its image layer.
According to the invention, this diverging lens group is selected so that its pseudo focal length is essentially equal to the pseudo focal length of the combination of field lens and the following lens groups when the lens is improved in terms of image curvature and astigmatism. If, however, the objective produces a curved astigmatic image, the divergent lens group is selected so that its pseudo focal length is essentially the same as the pseudo focal length of the combination of field lens, following lens groups and objective. This condition, made possible by the choice of suitable types of glass, allows the image curvature to be eliminated. The pseudo focal length for each lentil is the sum of the links (nk -1) etc., a term that does not include the thicknesses and spacing of the lenses. (rh and s'k are the radii of a lens, nh the refractive index.) In the drawing, Fig. i shows a lens arrangement for a telescope according to the invention, Fig. 2 shows an embodiment for telescopes.
0 bedeutet das achromatische Objektiv, dessen Brennebene bei
f, fliegt.
C is a diverging lens which is expediently approximately achromatic. In the Zeichening a four-part system is assumed, which consists of three diffusing and one converging lens. Those are made of glass with a low refractive index. Two of them are expediently cemented to the converging lens. This diffusing system results in a virtual image in the plane g, g, which is enlarged two to two and a half times. The chief rays, which penetrate the center of the objective lens, appear to emanate from a point p1 after passing through the negative lens. A field lens F is attached behind the correction system, which makes the main rays approximately parallel or weakly convergent. They are refracted by the two ocular lenses T, E towards the exit pupil P2. The pseudo focal length of the diffusing system C is 95 to 97 percent of the sum of the pseudo focal lengths of all other lenses.
If, as usual, the objective produces an astigmatic and curved image, the lens system C and the eyepiece must compensate for these deficiencies. However, there are also cases in which the focal length of the objective is so great compared to the focal length of the eyepiece that the image curvature and the astigmatism of the former are small. In this case, the eyepiece must be constructed in such a way that Petzval's condition only includes lenses C, F, T, E.
The same principle can be applied to microscopes.

und siebenfacher Vergrößerung. Jenes besteht aus zwölf Linsen h bis 112,
