Description
Processing of liquid slag from grate furnaces at Portland headquarters. It was generally of the opinion that no slag whatsoever formed in grate firing have more valuable properties; because according to the chemical composition The coal ash is the possibility of use and utilization without being inventive No action can be taken: According to the present method, such in grate firing occurring ashes after mixing, namely with lime, gypsum and the like, for the production a hydraulic binder, namely Portland cement, can be used, and by the fact that the minerals of the liquid slag in the required amount be added in lump form. Attempts have already been made to blast furnace slag to give hydraulic properties by using the liquid slag Adds minerals. But it never succeeded, thereby the hydraulic properties to increase so that the slag treated in this way after the graining immediately Portland cement result.
Portland cement is obtained by the process of the present invention in the simplest way, and moreover, in contrast to blast furnace slag, it is a grain not necessary. As the inventor has recognized, most coal ashes contain in the In contrast to slag from blast furnaces, not insignificant amounts of iron. That's why the slags from grate furnaces are easily fluid and can interact with the in to chemically combine imported minerals that they dissolve so intimately, that the desired product is achieved. In order to use the To collect precipitated liquid slag is a tub in a suitable place or an elongated, suitably inclined forward chamber arranged so that the liquid slag can be removed from this collecting device at any time.
