Resultate.Procedure for determining the volume or the specific weight
of living and dead bodies. The most common method of determining the specific
Weight, especially with irregular bodies, is based on the displacement of one
Liquid into which the body to be determined is immersed. In this way lets
The specific gravity of living beings cannot be determined, and the reason
Calculation formulas established for measurements on the dead do not result in flawless results
Results.
unterliegt. The suggestion has already been made, the volume or the
specific gravity of living bodies in such a way as to determine the body
Air surrounding a cell in terms of its density of change
and then mathematically based on the newly established pressure
Volume of the body to be measured -is determined on the basis of the consideration that
the change in pressure in an enclosed space depending on the space in it
Air volume is. Because meanwhile the proposed method is next to the measuring cell
a special recipient, in which compressed air is introduced and the one in it
prevailing pressure is measured, but then the recipient with the measuring cell through
an overflow pipe is connected so that a pressure equalization between the recipient and
If the measuring cell enters, it is questionable with regard to the height conditions of the recipient
and the measuring cell as well as the frictional work which the air of higher tension
must do in the tlerströmrohr whether a perfect pressure equalization in both
Vessels comes about. At least such a test requires next
the cumbersome equipment many auxiliary grips, readings and cumbersome arithmetic work,
above all, it expands for a longer period of time, so that the air composition in the
Measurement room meanwhile with regard to moisture content and temperature of a change
subject.
In contrast, the invention has a method for determining the volume
or the specific gravity of living and dead bodies to the subject, where
also changing and evaluating the density of the air surrounding the body
is used. The new method differs from the known one in that
that bringing about the changed air density only with regard to that in the measuring cell
Trapped air happens by moving this air through at atmospheric pressure
direct introduction or removal of precisely determinable amounts of atmospheric
Air is only influenced in a purely quantitative manner. This simplifies the whole thing
Procedure, - after both sides of atmospheric air, thus of a gas the same
Properties, is assumed, and in particular, the consideration of any
Temperature differences, as they must be taken into account in the known method
must be drawn, because with measurements according to the known method is apart
from the initial difference in temperatures, which on the one hand
the
Compressed air enclosed in the recipient, on the other hand inherent in the cell air
is to note that during the length of time, «-o the pressure equalization between
Recipient and measuring cell takes place through the radiation of a living body
Increase in temperature occurs, which affects the measurement result.
With the brevity of the measurement according to the new method, where it is particularly
If the same atmospheric air is used as the medium to be measured, these conditions remain
irrelevant. Since compared to the initial, atmospheric pressure (- 1) only the
Change in pressure in the closed space is to be observed, so offers the new
Procedure with the exclusion of complicated calculation formulas the possibility of reason
of the new pressure that is established in the cell provides a direct measure of the
to maintain the volume of air displaced by the body.
In addition, the new method offers when, for example, the air supply
or withdrawal determined by the number of strokes of an air pump according to the amount
the possibility of several comparison results through readings in the intermediate stages
to obtain.
