Description
Process for the production of spreadable oil or lacquer paints aqueous dye pastes. It is well known that white lead can be in the form of an aqueous one Mix the paste immediately with drying oils and make a good, spreadable one Create color that dries without forming bubbles. If you try in similarly aqueous pastes of other dyes, e.g. B. of soot or Erdfarhen, rubbed with oils, one observes that no homogeneous, spreadable oil paints emerge, but a greasy, unusable mixture. The finer one Mineral paint is spread, the harder it is to make the watery paste with oils or to combine with lacquer to oil or lacquer colors. So all attempts have failed so far to convert the color pastes of colloidal nature into spreadable paints or varnishes.
It has now been found that immediately a homogeneous spreadable Mixture of oils and water-based color pastes forms when you add a small amount of one Adding substance that has the property of dissolving oils as well as water. Through this is al: he achieved a significant technical effect by being given the opportunity is, the watery color paste, especially the colloidal nature, directly with oils to mix. Without using this inventive concept one would have to use the color paste first dry completely and then rub with the oils, which of course costs and Work causes. In addition, colloidal delicacy occurs in the color pastes, such as them z. B. by Iiolloidmühlen, system P l a u s o n, easily the case a; that they flocculate as they dry and clump together again into larger particles. The higher opacity achieved through the extensive dispersion is restored lost. These disadvantages are easily addressed by the present invention avoided.
The following substances are primarily suitable as additives: water-soluble Aldehydes, alcohols, ketones, esters, ethers, hydrocarbons, insofar as they are the Have the ability to more or less dissolve in water. In practice: will mostly methyl, ethyl alcohol and acetone are used. You can do this Substances either directly when the aqueous color paste is mixed with the Add oil or varnish base material or just add it to the paste at first and thereby displace some of the water, if necessary evaporate under vacuum, and only then mix the paste with the oil or paint base.
Beispiel r.Example r.
Care must be taken to ensure that the mixture is as intimate as possible: Man achieves a deep black, spreadable, oil color that dries up easily and has a high opacity, especially if one assumes a soot, the one on a Plauson colloid mill or a similar looking one high-speed dispersing machine has been converted into the colloidal state #. You can mix linseed oil and carbon black paste in a color grinder or immediately after the colloidization process in the colloid mill.
Beispiel e.Example e.
Very finely ground iron oxide is ground even further in the presence of 30 to 40 percent of its weight water. One to five parts of acetone are then added to 100 parts of the paste, and the whole is added to finite 60 parts of boiled linseed oil. In this way, a homogeneous, quickly drying paint is obtained, which is suitable for a wide variety of purposes.
The proportions given in the examples can be in can be changed in both directions.
