Process for the preparation of aqueous pigment suspensions by
The patent 552 624 protects pigment suspensions that contain saponified wax, resin,
Contain pigment and optionally organic solvents, with the resin component
Condensation products from polyhydric alcohols, polybasic acids and unsaturated ones
Fatty acids are used.
Kasein, in Frage.
In further pursuit of the subject matter of the invention it was found
that you get pigment suspensions of equally excellent technical properties
can also be obtained if you in the aqueous emulsion of the binder
Saponification products of waxes with volatile bases in whole or in part by others

Substances come z. B. alkali or ammonia salts of resins or artificial resinous ones
Products with free acid residues, as well as water- or alkali-soluble derivatives
of high-molecular carbohydrates and especially alkali-soluble protein bodies, such as

contained as a binder for the pigments. By using aqueous emulsions
of the aforementioned resinous condensation products as binders for pigments
the present invention is a substantial reduction in price compared to the known
Use of solutions of these resinous condensation products in organic
Solvents as binders achieved in pigment suspensions. The partially resp.
complete replacement of the organic solvent of the known pigment suspensions
water also reduces or completely eliminates the risk of fire
the pigment suspensions as well as the harmful effects, in particular
when using organic solvents of an aromatic nature in paints
may occur. In addition, the pigment suspensions of the present
invention
a faster drying rate than the above-mentioned known pigment suspensions.
