Description
Elektrischer Gasreiniger. Electric gas purifier. In electric gas cleaners, the spraying electrodes often cause short circuits in the event of a wire break. The present invention seeks to make these short circuits impossible by virtue of the fact that the spraying wire consists of several short ends which are closed together in the longitudinal direction and each of which is held by an electrode carrier. Fig. I - shows such a gas cleaner in longitudinal section, Fig.2 in cross section. The carrier i, which is under high voltage, is connected to insulators 3 on the ceiling _l. attached and carries, for example, longitudinal rods or tubes 2, to which in turn the spray wires 6 are attached. The spray wires expediently reach close to one another in order to achieve the effect of a wire spraying evenly. The precipitation surfaces 5 are attached parallel to the spray wires, the special design of which is not considered for the present invention. While the same electrical effect is achieved as with undivided spray wires, the mechanical system has been greatly improved as a result. If a wire breaks, it simply falls (the piece in question falls down without being able to make a short circuit. If the wire ends are made of elastic material, they vibrate at the clamping points, which prevents encrustation from getting tangled). This is also an advantage over undivided wires. Fig. 3 shows the fastening of the spray wires 7 in the pipe 8 on a larger scale. Fig. I shows that the wire ends can be thickened or made spherical in order to prevent terminal discharges The wire 12 is thickest at the clamping point in ii and is provided at the ends with balls 13. Fig. 6 and Fig. 6 show in elevation and plan view an electrode 15 in the fastening tube 14, which has a different flexural strength in different directions.
