So kommt
Method and device for displaying irregularities in
Pulling wires. When pulling thin wires, as they are especially in low-voltage technology
are needed, it happens that a piece of the drawing die breaks off. The consequence
are out-of-round wires with too large a cross-section. Leave at the delicacy of the wires
such irregularities can often hardly be seen with the naked eye. So come
it is that they are often only noticed late, so that considerable lengths of wire are worthless
are. There is constant monitoring through observation with optical aids
Unable to meet demands on attention and the eye excessively
would make an effort, a procedure is to be created through the discovery
which the drawn wire monitors without drawing human attention
will.
The method consists in making the drawn wire for a beam
or a flow forms an obstacle and that by changing the cross-section
of the wire one
Change in resistance brought about and thereby
a display device is put into operation. An embodiment is in
Fig. I and Fig. 2 are shown schematically. i and 2 are two vessels that pass through the
Fan 3 and the pipes q. and 5 are kept permanently under air pressure.
Fig. 2 shows a section along A-B through the pressure vessel 2 and shows that
this has a wide opening at the top, in front of which the wire 6 to be monitored runs along.
It therefore offers resistance to the air escaping from the vessel, see above
that, assuming uniform delivery by the fan 3, a certain
Adjusts the pressure in vessels i and z. The pressure is read on manometers 7 and 8.
The cross-section of the wire becomes due to an irregularity in the drawing process
the greater the resistance, which it opposes to the escaping air
and thus the pressure in the vessels i or 2. Since the directions of the air currents
if the two vessels are perpendicular to one another, then every irregularity is produced
noticeable on the circumference of the wire on at least one of them. The pressure gauges 7
and 8 can be connected to an electrical alarm device so that at
A sign is given to increase or decrease the pressure. Also can at the same time
the pulling device can be stopped automatically with the signal. Such a one
Monitoring device is also advantageous in the event that as a result of the long
During use, the drawing die has gradually worn down to such an extent that the enlargement
of the wire diameter exceeds the permissible limit.
Another embodiment is shown in Fig. 3. The pressure vessel ii is
provided with two bores 12 and 13 through which the drawn wire 6 runs.
Compressed air is supplied through a pipe 14, which flows into the vessel i i
a narrow pipe 15 enters. The manometer 16 measures the pressure difference in the pipeline
1s and in the pressure vessel il. The air escapes through the annulus that runs through the
Bores 12 and 13 and the drawn wire 6 is formed ivvird. Any change in cross-section
of the wire 6 has a change in pressure within the vessel ii to the consequence that on
Manometer 16 can be read or announced by a sign.
Man
Instead of keeping vessels 1, 2 or ii under pressure, they can be used
also operate with negative pressure. Any other gases can also be used instead of air
use, also liquids, e.g. B. water or oil. Impurities adhering to the wire
can be removed using upstream scrapers or brushes. Man
but they can also be eliminated by the device itself, if only one is sufficient
applies high pressure sufficient to blow off any attached foreign matter.
In the exemplary embodiment according to Fig. 4, instead of a flow
a light beam is used, which the selenium cell (photoelectric cell o. The like.) 2o
illuminated. The drawn wire, the strength of which is to be monitored, throws one
'' chat on these selenium cells, indicated in the drawing by hatching and
is denoted by 21. The selenium cell lies in a branch of the Wheatstone ash
Bridge (or equivalent circuit), the remaining branches of which through the resistors
22, 23, 24 are formed. The power is supplied by the battery 25. the
Resistors 22, 23, 24. are balanced so that when the shadow 21 is the prescribed
Width through which relay 26 no current goes. But if the shadow 21 becomes wider
or narrower, the relay 26 is energized and now triggers any: alarm device
or some other device by which the drawing process is interrupted.
