Abstract

A central metallic conductor (1) connected to earth is used as a core around which one or more insulated signal conductors (3,3') are wound helically on an extruded layer (5) of absorbent composite magnetic but nonconductive material. The helix is covered with an insulating and protective jacket (4). The linear inductance is increased by the helical arrangement of the 'hot' conductor(s). The core may be of steel or Fe-Ni alloy for even greater linear inductance.
