Abstract

The front strap of a riding saddle is reinforced by two small plates of rigid material. They are arranged symmetrically at opposite ends of a U shaped connecting strip (2). This connecting strip is made of stainless steel and spans the horse's withers. The strip slopes rearwards and downwards and grips the front edge of the saddle. The strip has a relatively thin cross-section with only limited elasticity and can be plastically deflected by hand.
