Abstract

A mixer for dry material has a lower section transportable away from the mixer when sepd. from the upper section, which in loading position forms a cover engageable with the lower section. When coupled together the two sections can pivot about a horizontal axis through 180 deg. into a mixing position, using tools mounted in the ''cover'' with a motor-driven shaft. When after mixing the coupled units are rotated back to their initial relative position prior to sepn. and removal of the lower section, the necessary rotation angle of 180 deg. is exceeded by an angle depending on the nature of the material and normally exceeding 10 deg. such that the surface of the mixed material is parallel with its container rim. Finally the tilt is reversed through this corrective angle, with min effect on the solids surface position.
