Abstract

The broom has a boss with a locking recess on the broom, fitting in a socket on the handle and held by a spring-loaded external locking member. There is a locking lug (5) at one side at the free end of the boss (3), while on the opposite side is a recess (7) extending for the width of the boss, whose length is less than the distance for which the boss is inserted in the socket (2). There is a recess in one side of the latter for the lug and a longitudinal groove (10) in the opposite one for a tongue (9) supported on an axial spring (12) and coupled to a slide (16) on the outside of the socket, gripping the boss in the engaged position.
