Abstract
The damping device is inserted between the ic engine and the switched transmission appts. It comprises a pair of flywheel devices (1531,1532) respectively attached to the engine drive shaft and coupled to the input shaft of the transmission via a clutch, with a viscous damping medium, e.g. a paste, contained in an annular channel defined by two half shells between the flywheel devices (1531,1532), which are coupled via springs contained within the channel. The springs are attached to a flange projecting radially into the annular channel integral with the second flywheel device (1532). Pref. two spring sets (1413,1513a) lie axially adjacent one another and act individually or in combination.
