Die Anordnung ist so getroffen, daß der in den Schuh 8 eingesetzte Endabschnitt der Stützelemente 1 ein Innengewinde aufweist sowie mit zumindest einem Längsschlitz 11 versehen ist. In die Endabschnitte sind Spreizdorne 12 eingeschraubt. Treppengeländer mit Stützen aus zwei parallelen Stützelementen, Handlauf und an Querholme angeschlossenen Ausfachelementen, wobei die Querholme in drehbaren, zwischen den Stützelementen gehaltenen Muffen befestigt sind und wobei der Handlauf mit arretierbaren Gelenken an die Stützen angeschlossen ist sowie die Stützen in an den Treppenstufen befestigte Schuhe eingesetzt sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Endabschnitte der Stützele­ mente (1) ein Innengewinde und zumindest einen Längsschlitz (11) aufweisen
sowie in seitlich an den Treppenstufen (7) befestigten U- förmigen Schuhen (8) mit lotrecht übereinander angeordneten Schenkeln (9, 10) einführbar sind,
