Aufgrund ungenügender Vorsorgeuntersuchungen bei Neugeborenen setzte die Behandlung der Hüftdysplasie im allgemeinen erst mit einem Lebensalter von drei bis neun Monaten ein, also zu einem Zeitpunkt, zu welchem der Säugling bereits eine Streckstellung der Beine angenommen hat. Es mußten also die Beine möglichst schonend unter Berücksichtigung der aktiven Strampelbewegungen des Kindes in die therapeutische Spreizstellung überführt werden. Dies wird bei einer vorbekannten Spreizhose (DBP 32 16 141) durch die anfängliche Rückführung zur pränatal physiologischen Beugestellung mit mäßiger Abspreizung und gleichzeitiger Umwandlung der Stram pel-Extensionsbewegungen in die Spreizstellung in hervorragender Weise erreicht. Heute bemüht man sich zunehmend um eine Frühesterfassung der Hüftdysplasie im Neugeborenenalter, nachdem inzwischen die hierzu erforderlichen Diagnosemittel zur Verfügung stehen. Dies geht selbstverständlich auch mit einer Vorverlage rung der Behandlung bereits beim Neugeborenen einher. Hierzu eignen sich aber aus den vorgenannten Erwägun gen die bisher bekannten Spreizhöschen, selbst wenn sie in der Größe angepaßt würden, nicht. Ihre Gestal tung muß vielmehr der Erzielung eines optimalen Behand lungsprinzips angepaßt werden.
