Abstract

The invention is based on the object of increasing the activity and the storage stability of pyrethrin as an insecticide spray by means of biological synergists and improved formulation. An insecticide spray formulation is described, characterised in that the formulation consists of a mixture of pyrethrin extract, black pepper oil, additives with or without other ethereal oils and piperonyl butoxide, and is brought into a clear, aqueous emulsion and buffered at a pH of 3.0 to 5.0. An insecticide formulation of this type is readily biodegradable, non-toxic for warm-blooded animals and very stable on storage. It was found that a mixture of pyrethrin and black pepper oil excels the insecticidal action of the two components by far and is highly effective against insects, as was demonstrated by field tests.
