Abstract

The invention relates to a portable installation, craft or car luminaire which is operated with a battery (mostly Ni-Cd), an extremely flat and powerful fluorescent tube, and special electronic circuitry. The advantages of the Ni-Cd battery system, the high light efficiency and the small current consumption of a fluorescent lamp are combined here for the first time by applying special electronic circuitry. This combination, in conjunction with the flat, oval shape (battery + Dulux fluorescent lamp integrated in the lamp handle) ensures that the luminaire is predestined for craft purposes in general and for vehicle construction in a very particular way. The battery is charged in the already existing charging unit or directly in the vehicle. A novel switch ensures perfect contact-making without sliding contact and offers protection against reversal of polarity. It is possible to adjust the luminaire by means of special contactless wiring. All batteries having the same shape, voltage and polarity can be used. With the aid of suitable adaptors, however, virtually any battery block of the most important electric tool manufacturers can be used as current source. By means of a special supplementary (auxiliary) beam projector, a long-range (long distance) effect is achieved to a considerable degree. The luminaire can also be operated directly from the mains by means of a ballast device.

Description

(Zchg. 1)The novelty of this invention is the combination of fluorescent lamps and the existing Ni-Cd batteries. ( Drawing 1)

The high luminous efficacy and the low power consumption (5 W Fluorescent lamp is as bright as an incandescent lamp with 25 W, or 7 W LL like 40 W GL, or 9 W LL like 60 W GL, etc.) open especially in connection with battery power sources absolutely new ways of building lights.

The power consumption ratio between fluorescent lamps (LL) and incandescent lamps (GL) by a factor of 5-7 is controlled by a system specific behavior of the battery to factor 7 to 10 Increased in favor of LL.

From the list it can be seen that it has not so far was possible to build a powerful luminaire with GL without that it was too expensive, too big and too heavy. The heat abs Radiation means a separate problem for GL lights. So it was possible to remove a professional assembly light wrap that also with a small, existing Ni-Cd battery from Z. B. 7.2 V voltage and only 1.2 Ah capacity Burning time of 2 hours reached and a light intensity  testifies that so far you can only get a 40 W incandescent lamp was.

For applications that require a higher light concentration, is the lamp with an additional headlight that one Has wide beam effect provided.
