Abstract

Known triangular windsurfing rigs do not possess optimum lift values and have to be shifted during manoeuvres (tacking, wearing). Known symmetrical windsurfing rigs have the mast in the middle of the sail; the turbulators are formed by bolt ropes stretched along the contour battens. While such rigs have better propulsive values and do not need to be shifted, they become more unstable as the speed increases, due to the unstable turbulators. The new tubular-frame rig is intended to combine the advantages of the two types of rig: better lift and no shifting, together with steadier sailing due to stable turbulators. The tubular frame is constructed of two pre-bent aluminium tubes which are pushed through the sail on the left and right into respective sail pockets. The bottoms of the tubes are inserted onto the mast foot and the tops onto the joint. The parts are fixed in place with a snap-fit device. When the sail is spread on the tubular frame, by means of the spreading line running crosswise below and the trimming line running crosswise above, the frame moulds itself to the shape given by the sail and becomes stable. The sail battens are inserted into sheaths fastened to sail pockets to form the contour, and pressed into the shape with light tension. The symmetrical forked boom is fastened on both sides of the frame with mast rope ends. It is provided with two starting sheets. Description

The invention relates to a symmetrical tubular frame rig for windsurfing according to the preamble of claim 1.

The stability of the jewei achieved by the frame tubes luff luff (in the direction of travel) should stabilize of the sail pressure point and thus a calmer and more powerful enable economical sailing. Furthermore, the sail should no need to write for maneuvers. Improving on drive values should also be achieved.

(Zeitschrift Surf-Magazin, Verlag Delius Klasing u. Co., Bielefeld, Ausgabe Februar 1987, Seiten 40-41).It is known that the windsurfing rig with triangular sail cut with the help of a connected to the side mast the boom and a trim line. It is also known that symmetrical windsurfing rigs  from a mast arranged in the middle and two to the There are sides stretched on the sail battens. (Surf-Magazin, publisher Delius Klasing and Co., Bielefeld, February 1987 edition, pages 40-41).

Both known rig gardens have major disadvantages. The triangular rig must be shifted during maneuvers and because of its cut it has unfavorable buoyancy values. However, the mast at the front (in motion direction) a relatively stable sail pressure point. The symmetrical rig has better lift values and it does not have to be written because both sides (in motion direction) can be driven in front. However, it does here by vibrations and fluttering of the front couchette with increasing speed to uneasy driving behavior through the constant migration of the sail pressure point forward or aft.

The invention has for its object the advantages to combine the two known rig systems. That means better propulsion and smoother driving behavior if the sailing boat is no longer available.

This object is achieved in that the symmetrical tubular frame rig no longer a mast on one Side or in the middle, but that a symmetrical Tubular frame is used, which is the symmetrical sail limited to the two bent licks. The tubular frame is there from two pre-bent aluminum tubes that go through the sail can be pushed left and right into a sail bag. Above and below, the tubes are on the head joint or put on the mast foot and by means of a snap-in device fixation. As a material for upper u. Lower piece is suitable for both polyamide and aluminum. When tensioning of the sail cut into a V-shape at the top and bottom Tubular frame using the cross-led tensioning line below  and the crossed trim line hugs up the frame of the sail through the appropriate cut given shape and becomes stable. The battens who the slats sewn onto the sail pockets for profiling shoes inserted and pressed into shape with slight tension. The symmetrical boom is on both sides of the frame Mast lines attached. The boom needs at each end a starting sheet.
