Abstract

The circuit has one connection point (1) of the relay coil (K) connected via the switching path of an s-c switch (TR) to ground and via a reversed diode (D1) to the d.c supply (Uv). The other connection point (2) of the coil is connected via a capacitor (C1) to ground and via a resistor (R1) to the d.c supply. The d.c supply voltage is much higher than the mains voltage of the coil. The d.c supply voltage, the capacitor and the resistor are dimensioned so that the response time of the relay fluctuates by no more than 2 ms. The delay in operating the transistor is such that the contacts close 1 ms before or after the a.c has crossed zero.
