1877.1877. GROSMANN in DÜSSELDORF. GROSMANN in DÜSSELDORF. Rescue apparatus in case of fire danger and observation tower, based on the Nuremberg scissors. Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 3. Juli 1877 ab.Patented in the German Empire on July 3, 1877. The apparatus consists of a heavily built, low carriage, on each of which three or five Nuremberg scissors are placed. The lower extremities of these scissors are provided with sliding pieces that slide forwards or backwards in special so-called U-irons, while only the support point of the middle scissor intersection is fixed. The two scissors are connected at their outward crossing points through iron crossbars, so the whole thing takes aufgewundenem state the shape of a four: at rectangular tower. A platform rests on the upper extremities of the scissors, on the lower surface of which the U-irons and sliding pieces described above are repeated. A screw device attached to the carriage is used to erect the tower, whereby the ends of the scissors are pushed together or pulled apart towards the center; any rise or fall of the scissor tower is thereby achieved. The initial ascent is supported by a vertical screw which presses against the scissors from below, at the same time the upper scissor beams can be tightened by a winch attached to the platform. The platform forms the location of the observers or the rescue teams. To increase the stability, the dimensions of the woods used taper upwards. When the tower has reached the desired height, it is supported on the side. Fig. Ι of the drawing shows a coiled apparatus for observation purposes whose platform has a protective cage and a signal for the observer. Fig. 2 is a rescue apparatus for fire purposes in the laid down, drivable state. Fig. 3. Vorderansicht desselben in aufgewundenem Zustande.Fig. 3. Front view of the same in the wound state. Fig. 4.
