Procedure in cinematography despite increased screening speed to keep the movement normal, and copy machine for this.
According to the Union Treaty of June 2, 1911, priority is claimed for this application on the basis of the application in Austria of May 16 , 1921.
It is known that after given negatives for cinematographic trick purposes the To produce positives in such a way that in the negative, according to a certain law,
Conversely, it often happens in cinematographic technology that
There are j individual scenes too hasty movements
weisen. Kopiert man z. According to the invention, this inconvenience can be countered by copying the individual images of the relevant image series onto the positive film one after the other and thus artificially increasing the length of the positive film. If you copy z. B. each negative image or only every second negative image twice in succession, the number of images of the positive film increases to twice or ίο ι! Ίοfache and the movements are slowed down in the projection onto the half-rate or to 2/3 of the same.
A copying machine converted for this purpose enables this copying method to be carried out in practice. The two film tapes Λ τ and P (negative and positive film), which pass through the roller R into the exposure window F , which is adjustable in length, are separately guided and exposed in this, separated by thin intermediate layers B.
The negative tape JV is moved by the gripper G, the positive tape P via the rollers R 2 , R 3 , i? 4 actuated by gripper G 2. These two grippers are coupled to one another by the gears Z 1 , Z 2. The transmission ratio of the gears can be changed as desired by exchanging the same, so that the two grippers either grasp at the same time and the same number of times, or if desired, for. B. G 2 transported twice or more times, while G 1 pulls only once. The number of images that each gripper pulls with each pull can still be changed by adjusting the cranks K 1 , K 2 that actuate the grippers. If you adjust the window opening to the height of a single picture and let G 1 by changing the transmission ratio of the gears Z 1 and Z 2 (Fig. 3) z. B. run twice as fast as G 2 , each image is copied twice in a row. The same is achieved if you open the window to the width of two images, let both grippers go at the same speed (number of teeth of Z 1, Z 2 equal to each other), but the lifting height of the gripper G 1 on the crank K 1 is dependent on the transport \ r on one picture, gripper G 2 also on K " but sets the transport of two pictures. In a similar way, the cranks K 1 , K 2 and the transmission ratio of Z 1 and Z 2 and by adjusting the window height all possible variations of the copying process, that z. B. is only doubled every second or third image, or that a sequence of three or more images is copied twice, achieve.
This device also proves to be of particular importance in the multicolor ! cinematographic, where film negatives are to be copied, the individual images of which are determined alternately Color values correspond.
If you take the three- or multi-colored partial images during the recording a single film tape one after the other and one leads from this negative into normally taken positives at normal performance speed so that that in order to produce the color effect the individual positive partial images are changed by changing Filters, or somehow differently projected one after the other correspondingly colored, so always occurs an annoying one! Flicker caused by the The eye is no longer just light impressions, as in the usual black and white cinematography to fuse alone, but also has to do the work of mixing colors. To despite this duplication To eliminate the flickering of the eye, one has to reduce the performance speed considerably raise. The method described above now allows this increase the performance speed without accelerating the action and the movements to the same extent will.
