Description
The invention relates to excavators and especially on vehicles on which an excavator mounted as an attachment to form an excavator is.
Attempts have been made to: Effectiveness of excavators and vehicles, on to which they are mounted by reducing the size and the weight of both the excavator and the Vehicle for a certain predetermined digging depth and -performance or, in other words, by increasing the Digging depth and performance without increasing the weight and increase the dimensions.
For example, in U.S. Patent 4,272,222 Davis an additional rigid handlebar of the previously known Handlebar arrangement of the excavator added to the digging depth to enlarge the excavator. The cantilever arm of the Excavator is articulated and forms a connecting link between the inner and outer parts of the same. The link is mounted in a position that matches Distance outside the pivotable attachment of the lifting cylinder is located to support the boom, and it connects the rigid handlebar in the transverse direction and swiveling the lifting cylinder and the inner part of the boom.
In the present invention, a frame part to attach the excavator to a near the end of the main frame of the vehicle pivotable transverse axis connected to the main frame. It is an establishment provided by means of which the frame part for attachment of the excavator either between a working position and a transport position can be pivoted. Further is a device for determining the frame part for the Excavator on the main frame of the vehicle in the working position or the transport position provided. On the frame part the excavator is attached.

The fastening device for the excavator device is designated as a whole in FIG. 1 by 10 . An excavator 12 is mounted by the fastening device 10 on a vehicle 14 in the form of an articulated shovel loader, so that there is an excavation vehicle or an excavation machine, which is designated as a whole by 16 . The vehicle 14 comprises a main frame 18 , which can be seen from FIGS. 1 to 5. A frame part 20 for fastening the excavator 12 is attached to the main frame 18 so as to be pivotable about an axis 22 . As is apparent from Fig. 4, the frame part comprises 20 for the excavating implement 12, two forwardly extending vertical side plates 24 and 26, which are mounted laterally outside of the vehicle frame 18 at this and to which the frame member 20 to the frame 18 about the axis 22 is pivotable. The axis 22 is formed by two pivot pins located on the opposite sides of the vehicle and the frame part 20 , the pivot pin located on the side facing the viewer in FIGS. 2 and 3 being designated by 28 . The frame part 20 also comprises two rearwardly extending upper and lower support plates 31 and 32 which run horizontally in FIG. 2. The fastening device 10 for the excavator 12 also includes a swivel frame 34 which can be swiveled relative to the support plates 31 and 32 about a swivel axis 36 which is vertical according to FIG. 2, that is to say in the working position. The swivel frame construction allows the excavator 12 mounted on the swivel frame 34 to pivot over an arc of almost 180 ° from one side of the machine to the other.
In FIG. 2, the frame part 20 is shown for the excavating implement 12 in the operative position. In this operating state, a hydraulic cylinder 38 connected between the frame part 20 and the main frame 18 of the vehicle is retracted, as a result of which the frame part 20 is pivoted down into its lowermost and innermost position. When the cylinder 38 is extended, the frame part 20 is pivoted upwards and outwards into the position according to FIG. 3. This is the transport position. A locking device 40 arranged on the main frame 80 of the vehicle in the transverse direction (see FIGS. 4 to 7) can be actuated by the operator of the vehicle in order to lock the frame part 20 on the main frame 18 of the vehicle. The locking device 40 is shown in FIGS. 4, 5 and 7 in the locked state. In Fig. 6 it is shown in the unlocked state. The locking device 40 comprises a hydraulic cylinder 42 which is extendable for locking the frame part 20 on the main frame 18 and retractable for unlocking. According to FIG. 4, the locking device 40 comprises at its opposite ends pins 44 and 46 which in the extended state in openings 45 and 47 engage in the side plates 24 and 26 on opposite sides of the frame part 20. This is the case in the working position. Two further openings are made in the side plates 24 and 26 , one of which is shown at 49 in FIG. 3 and in which the pins 44 and 46 engage in the transport position. In Figs. 6 and 7, the pin 46 is connected at 48 to the cylinder 42, while the pin 44 is connected at 52 with a bushing 50 which in turn forming at a portion of the cylinder 42 piston rod 54 is attached. The spring 56 serves to press the locking device into the locking position when the cylinder 42 is not pressurized.
When the cylinder is, however, 42 is pressurized and the locking device is in the unlocked state 40, the frame member 20 and the mounted thereon excavating implement can 12 between the operative position shown in Fig. 1 in dashed lines and shown in Fig. 1 in solid lines Transport position can be shifted by actuating the hydraulic cylinder 38 attached between the main frame 18 and the frame part 20 . The hydraulic cylinders 38 and 42 are remotely operated by the vehicle operator in the usual manner. The term "hydraulic cylinder" herein means a double-acting hydraulic linear actuator with an outer tubular member which is closed at both ends and an inner piston, whereby variable volume chambers are formed between the ends of the tubular member and the piston. The piston is mounted on a piston rod which protrudes through the end piece at one end of the tubular part.
Characterized in that the excavator 12 and its attachment on the frame part 20 are pivoted down into the working position, the lowest part of the frame part 20 and also the excavator 12 can be arranged closer to the ground than in the previously known constructions with excavator devices of the type in question Since the excavator is located closer to the ground in the working or digging position, it can dig deeper than previously known excavators with the same length of the boom and the outer swivel arm. In the transport position, the center of gravity of the excavator 12 is further forward than in the working position. This shifts a greater proportion of the weight of the excavator towards the front of the machine 14 so that it is very well balanced and the operator can move the machine on the road at street speed without rocking excessively or losing control. When the frame member 20 is in the transport position, the lowest part of the excavator 12 is at the same height as the lowest part of the main frame 18 of the vehicle, thereby facilitating maneuvering of the vehicle. Another advantage is that when the excavator 12 is in the transport position, the rearmost part of the excavator 12 is still within the steering radius of the machine, so that the operator does not have to be careful that the rear part of the excavator 12 is not in a steering maneuver touches somewhere.
