Abstract

A time display device with analog display, a clockwork and an instrument dial with associated pointers is reported. The instrument dial (3) exhibits holes (7) at the display points for hours, minutes and optionally seconds, which holes each accept one end of a light conducting fibre (8) whose other end is brought to the corresponding point (9) of a time display surface (10), which can be shaped in any desired way, remote from the primary instrument dial (3). A light source (2) illuminating the primary instrument dial (3) is arranged in front of it. Description

The invention relates to a Time display device in the preamble of Claim 1 specified genus.

The invention is based, with relative simple means an illuminated time display device to create the most ornamental in any Design and size at a greater distance from the clockwork can be arranged.

This object is achieved by the Characteristics of the claim solved.

Light source, dial with hands and clockwork form a timer unit. This can be in one housing in an inconspicuous place, even to the viewer hidden, arranged so that only the Time display area is visible. Because of the different colored illumination of the dots on the display surface is the Time readable, for example the hour in red, the Minute green and possibly the second yellow.

A light source ( 2 ) for parallel bundled light, a dial ( 3 ) with hour and minute hands of equal length ( 4 ) and a clockwork ( 5 ) are arranged one behind the other on a base plate ( 1 ). The light source ( 2 ) can have, for example, a halogen lamp with a concave mirror, and the clockwork ( 5 ) can be a quartz movement. It is connected via long shafts ( 6 ) to the hands ( 4 ) of the dial ( 3 ), which has holes ( 7 ) on a circle in which one end of optical fibers ( 8 ) are inserted, the other ends of which are in corresponding holes ( 9 ) of a time display area ( 10 ), which can be arranged completely separate from the timer unit consisting of light source ( 2 ), dial ( 3 ) and clockwork ( 5 ) at any distance from this and in any size.

The pointers ( 4 ) have transparent colored plates ( 11 ) in different colors at their outer ends. Since the entire dial ( 3 ) is illuminated by the light source ( 2 ), the optical fibers ( 8 ) receive "white" light in the bores ( 7 ) that are not covered by the color plates ( 11 ), while those by the red color plate ( 11 ) of the hour hand ( 4 ) covered bore ( 7 ) of the dial ( 3 ) receives red light and transmits it via the associated optical fiber ( 8 ) to the corresponding point (hole 9 ) of the time display area ( 10 ), so that this point also glows red to let. The same happens with the minute hand ( 4 ), for example in green.

Only the hour and minute hands ( 4 ) are shown in the drawing. However, a second hand can also be provided, which can then carry, for example, a yellow color plate ( 11 ).

A second circle of bores ( 7 ) can also be provided in the dial ( 3 ), a long and a short hand ( 4 ) being operated so that the hour and minute display are on two separate circles of points ( 9 ) on the display surface ( 10 ) can be read. Only twelve holes ( 7 ) are shown in the drawing. If the clock is to be read to the minute, there are of course sixty holes ( 7 ).

Furthermore, it is not absolutely necessary to arrange the long axes ( 6 ) for the hands ( 4 ) between the clockwork ( 5 ) and the dial ( 3 ) if a smaller clockwork ( 5 ) is available that is directly on the dial ( 3 ) can be attached.

Claims (1)

Time display device with analog display, clockwork and a dial with associated hands, characterized by the following features:

• a) The dial ( 3 ) has holes ( 7 ) at the display points for hour, minute and possibly second, each receiving one end of an optical fiber ( 8 ), the other end to the corresponding point ( 9 ) of any time display surface ( 10 ) away from the primary dial ( 3 );
• b) in front of the primary dial ( 3 ) a light source ( 2 ) illuminating this is arranged;
• c) the pointers ( 4 ) have transparent colored plates ( 11 ) for differently coloring the light from the light source ( 2 ) received by the ends of the optical fibers ( 8 ) seated in the bores ( 7 ) of the dial ( 3 ).
