Description

The invention relates to a device for cutting of armored Corband, especially of steel cord tape in parallel to those that run diagonally to the belt length and conveying direction Reinforcement wires. The invention is suitable for steel cordband of course also for cordbands with others Reinforcing threads, for example made of keflar, aramid, polyester or similar plastics.

Such steel cord tapes have hitherto been cut neither by hand nor by means of small wheels that are pulled in a guided manner. The difficulty arises that - so not the be neighboring reinforcement wire is exposed and the cut is effective between two wires - the steel cord tape for cutting cutting must be stopped, which is evidently significant Difficulties and production delays.

The invention is therefore based on the object of a device to create a simple machine controlled cutting of steel cord belts inserted at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the conveyor embedded armored wires allows, without doing that Cutting knife exposes the reinforcement wire.

To solve this problem, a cutting device is provided see that is marked by a on a horizontal slidably mounted slide vertically adjustable arranged knife holder on which a tipped  Knife with a leading, essentially vertical Cutting edge is pivoted about a vertical axis.

The arrangement according to the invention only requires a lowering of the knife in the region of the side edge of the steel cord belt, from which the reinforcing wires are inclined backwards counter to the belt conveying direction. With the insertion, the blade rotates - under the action of the passing Stahlcordbandes - approximately wires parallel to the Armie and moves entraining the Messertragers and the carriage parallel to the armor wires to ge genüberliegenden edge and thus cuts exactly one cutting line as previously only could be generated - either manually or with a motor-out wheel - but in both cases by stopping the Stahlcordbandes.

To prevent the knife when lowering, if it falls due on a reinforcing wire, this exposes and cuts along the wire, it is provided in a further development of the invention that the, more rounded, tip of the knife, which between the Cutting edge and an upward inclined rear edge of the knife blade is thickened in cross-section upwards. This type of nose at the tip inevitably results in a lateral displacement when the steel cord is inserted if a reinforcing wire is actually hit. On the other hand, this ensures that - and only this enables an actually controlled strip cutting without holding on to the steel cord band - a reinforcing wire is not exposed during the cut.

The knife holder can either be lowered by hand or done via an actuator, this actuator right can be relatively simple and none too  large forces need to move, unlike the up long necessary servomotors for the guided pulling of a Cutting wheel. The moving force to move the knife transversely to the longitudinal direction of the tape is the movement of the Steel cord tape itself causes so that the horizontal ver sliding slides completely without any drive element is coming.

Fig. 3 und 4 vergrößerte Seitenansichten bzw. Stirnansichten des Trennmessers. FIGS. 3 and 4 are enlarged side views and end views of the cutting knife.

The separating device shown comprises two vertically superimposed guide rods 1 and 2 , on which a carriage 3 is horizontally displaceably mounted. The guide rods are mounted on a plate 6 by means of pedestals 4 , 5 , which in turn is supported or hung in a manner not shown. On the carriage 3 , a knife carrier 9 is slidably mounted on vertical guide rods 7 and 8 , which can be moved either by hand or by a servomotor, not shown, in the vertical direction. On the bearing part 10 of the knife carrier, a separating knife 11 is mounted so as to swing about a vertical axis. A heating rod for the separating knife is indicated at 12 in order to achieve a simple separation of the rubber or rubber material of the steel cord band 13 . This steel cord tape 13 with embedded armoring wires 14 indicated in FIG. 2 is to be separated into strips parallel to the armoring wires, the armoring wires not to be exposed during this cutting. The present invention achieves this by the special shape of the separating knife 11 in connection with its mounting on the knife carrier which oscillates about the vertical axis. The separating knife is provided with a leading, substantially vertical, cutting edge 15 , while the rounded tip 16 , which forms the transition to an upward inclined rear edge 17 of the knife blade, is thickened in cross-section upwards and thus forms a kind of nose, such as it can be seen in Fig. 4. Due to this special nose-shaped ver thick tip 16 , the knife is laterally deflected when accidentally striking a wire armouring 14 , so that the separating seam comes to be at a distance from the armoring wire in any case. The movement of the knife itself takes place actively by the further movement of the steel cord band 13 in the direction of the movement arrow 18 . If the knife is inserted with its tip into the edge 19 of the steel cord band 13 , it is initially aligned parallel to the reinforcement wires under the effect of the further movement of the band and then parallel to the reinforcement wires 14 as a result of the band movement - upwards in FIG. 2 moved, taking the knife carrier 9 and the carriage 3 . No separate drive is required at all for the cross travel of the slide. The essence of the upward inclined rear edge 17 of the knife blade is that when piercing, it is cut through to the edge near the edge of the strip before the knife moves off towards the center of the strip.
