Description
Verfahren zum Haltbarmachen von Akrolein. Das Akrolein konnte seiner geringen Haltbarkeit wegen bisher technisch noch nicht in dein "\laße verwendet werden, wie dies seine sonst so wertvollen Eigenschaften wünschenswert gemacht hätten. Dieser Umstand ist einer sehr rasch eintretenden Umwandlung des Akroleins in polymere Verbindungen zuzuschreiben. Diese Neigung zur Polymerisation wird durch dieAnwesenheit von Säuren oder Salzen, auch von Alkalien in ätzender Form noch begünstigt. Es konnte demgemäß keinen Erfolg haben, das frisch gewonnene Akrolein nach dein Abdestiliieren mit Bleioxyd zu neutralisieren oder 'es mit schwefliger Säure oder mit schwefligsauren Salzen zu versetzen. Insbesondere hielt man auch die Gegenwart von neutralen oder sauren kohlensauren Alkalien- oder alkalischen Erden für schädlich.Method of preserving acrolein. Das so gewonnene, noch etwa io Prozent Wasser enthaltende Akrolein kann in an sich bekannter 'Weise durchVerrübren mit einem neutralenTrockenmittel', wie Chlorcaleitirn, von Wasser befreit .worden, ohne dadurch an Haltbarkeit einzubfißen.
