Abstract

A description is given of a method of removing a shatter protection film from a laminated glass pane for motor vehicles, which consists in that the pane is heated to a temperature of 65-100 DEG C, in particular 70-80 DEG C, and the film is peeled off from one edge. With this method, damaged shatter protection films can be removed from the laminated glass panes without leaving any residual material behind, so that the panes are suitable for applying a new shatter protection film. This makes it no longer necessary to scrap laminated glass panes on which only the shatter protection film is damaged.

Claims: 1. Method for removing a splinter protection film of a multilayer glass pane for motor vehicles, characterized in that the disc is heated to a temperature of 65 to 1000C and the film from a Edge is peeled off.

2. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the disc is heated to a temperature of 70 to 800C.

The application relates to a method for removing a splinter protection film of a multilayer glass pane for automobiles.

To protect the occupants of motor vehicles against accidents the resulting glass splinters will be the windows of the motor vehicle. especially the windshield on the side facing the interior covered with a splinter protection film, which has the task of preventing splinters from flying around if the window breaks and to prevent the loosening of glass splinters from the pane composite.

The splinter protection films consist of a plastic film, which by means of an intermediate adhesive layer, generally an adhesive film, on the pane is attached. Films made of modified polyurethane material are known as splinter protection films, but also polyester / polyvinyl butyral composite films. The slides come with a equipped with a certain "self-healing effect", the smaller scratches or furrows disappears again a certain time and thus a good transparency guaranteed by the disc. The disadvantage of these films, however, is that damage, which extend into the layer of glass underneath, i.e. through which the film completely is severed, e.g. B. Cuts or cracks have a strong tendency to enlarge to have. Such damage occurs in practice during normal use of the disc not, but not always during the manufacture and assembly of the panes be avoided. A pane with such defects cannot be installed, but may have to be removed and scrapped again, although the real one Glass pane is still completely intact. This scrapping is particularly expensive at the expense of Slices associated with considerable costs. A reuse of the discs by removing the damaged splinter protection film and applying a new one Shatter protection film was previously not possible because the shatter protection films are not Allow to be removed from the glass pane without a trace.

The object of the invention is to find a method due to the splinter protection films of multilayer glass panes for motor vehicles have it removed so that the disc can be recycled.

This object is achieved by what is described in claim 1 Procedure solved.

The procedure consists in this. that you can set the disc to a temperature from 65 to 1000 C and carefully remove the splinter protection film from one edge withdraws. The film is attached to one edge z. B. by means of a plastic scraper lifted, the lifted film is grasped and carefully with moderate tensile stress peeled off the glass to avoid tearing the film. Because of the manufacturing process It recommends that the foils adhere particularly well to the edge of the pane take off the film at the edge of a whole page to reduce the risk of tearing to decrease. The film is preferably detached on a narrow side of the pane.

The temperature at which the disc will be while the Shatter protection film is located, should be between 65 and 1000 C. Falls below if a temperature of 65 °, there is a risk that the film will no longer be Can be removed from the pane without leaving any residue.

The upper limit of the temperature is determined by the resistance of the Conditional plastic composite layer between the panes of glass. Above 1000 exists the risk that bubbles will form in this plastic layer, which would impair the transparency affect. If there is only a poor bond in the manufacture of the panes has come about, d. H. if the air influences when joining the panes of glass could not be completely removed, this bubble formation can also occur at temperatures occur below 1000C. Any kind of blistering inside is safely avoided the intermediate layer between the panes of glass when you heat the Slices does not exceed a temperature of 800 C. A temperature range of 70 to 80 ° C is therefore preferred when heating the panes.

Claims (1)

Multi-layer glass panes consist of at least two, but sometimes also a large number of panes of glass, between each of which there is a plastic layer - Generally a polycarbonate layer - is through which the individual glass layers be held together. Frequently, especially in the case of multi-layer glass panes, which are formed with a splinter protection film, the last pane in front the splinter protection film also made of plastic, in particular the polycarbonate mentioned, which when building multilayer glass panes because of its good transparency is generally preferred as a plastic. These polycarbonate layers are natural Relatively soft compared to mineral glass layers. However, after the Method according to the invention, the splinter protection film also from a polycarbonate layer can be removed without leaving any residue, so that the disc can be used for the application of a new one Splinter protection film is suitable. Let through this decrease the scrap especially in the case of large panes made up of a large number of layers of glass and polycarbonate exist, save very considerable costs.
