Da,es j edoch bei dem Verfahren in der Hauptsache darauf ankommt, die Absorptionsflüssigkeit von nitrosen Gasen zu befreien, um der Absorptionsflüssigkeit eine stärkere Absorptionsfähigkeit zu verleihen, ist die Anwesenheit von Sauerstoff im Gasstrom nicht unbedingt notwendig. Es genügen für die Ausblasiezwecke auch Gase, wie Stickstoff, gereinigte Rauchgase, die überhaupt keinen Sauerstoff enthalten.
