Ophthalmoscope with simultaneous illumination consisting of reflectors

The aim of the invention is to make such instruments considerably lighter (and more delicate than was previously possible) while maintaining the general principle of eliminating reflexes in the construction Dimensions of the instrument, length, width and thickness, different reasons. The length can theoretically be reduced as desired by shortening the focal length of the imaging mirror; But this stands in the way that a close approach of the observer to the examined is undesirable for hygienic reasons. With the larger focal length of the concave mirror required for the necessary distance, however, an increase in all dimensions of the instrument is associated. The width of the instrument, which is to be understood as the extent in the plane of the Z, infallslote of the reflectors, needed to be so small for me to image the fundus that the rays thrown back by one of the reflectors passed the other. However, it must be chosen larger because the space between the reflectors serves to observe the pupil and the pupil of the examined person is not visible from the exit pitipill of the instrument when the reflectors are slightly inclined.
For your reasons, the thickness of the instrument must not be insignificant
because the light source shown in the exit pupil is your person being examined
serves to adjust the optic nerve pupil as a fixation object, and because the direction of fixation
in the plane perpendicular to the plane of incidence of the reflectors, there
in the reflection line itself a wrong line of sight would have resulted.
abgelenkt, um dem Untersuchten ein Bild Üeser Lichtquelle als Fixationsmarke darzubieten;
According to the invention, these errors are now represented by three different ones
'Measures that work in the three relevant directions eliminated.
First, a telescope is placed between the exit pupil and the observer's eye
with the real image plane switched on, the exit pupil on the observer's pith
images, as a result, the actual body of the instrument can be found in his
Make the length considerably smaller without the necessary observation distance
is shortened by the examiner. Furthermore, in order not to have a greater inclination
of the two reflectors than for the imaging of the eye-ZD el backeligrundes
It is essential to observe the pupil of the examined person
# lustrittsp # upille aus not directly between the two reflectors
instead, a part of the exit pupil is made by a mirror system
laterally shifted, as a result of which there is a reduction in width. By
the telescope then appears the pupil of the underlining next to the fundus image,
-and one has the special advantage that in the right, -llen image plane a crosshair
may be appropriate, brought to the correct setting on the center of the pupil
will. Finally, through a mirror system, a part of the rays of the illumination,
serving light source in the plane determined by the perpendiculars of incidence of the reflectors
distracted to present the examinee with an image of its light source as a fixation mark;
this makes it possible to make the instrument particularly flat.

The light comes from the filamentary incandescent lamp f. Flas is directed through the lenses g, h and the prisms i and k onto the mirror e. The glow color f is sharply imaged within the bleak prism k . The double-reflecting prism 1 abuts the rear of the prism k , which allows a full lateral view of the pupil of a through between the two reflectors d and e. The prisms k and 1 are to be thought of as a little below the plane of the drawing, so that their upper surface lies in the plane of the optical axis. K to the prisms and 1 includes the optical in the extension -, 1, the telescope in clise on, there is objectively ii from the Obwalden, derKollektivlinse o and p of the ocular lens, looks through the vein observer. The examinee saw the Glühlanipe f from its rear side through the red glass plate q, the convex lens r and the Prisnia s mirrored in a # direction which deviates 15 ' from the optical axis of the instrument, so that the pupil moves when the lamp is fixed located in the center of the field of view. The drawing shows the observation of the right eye. To watch de s left Au, -it is turned to the instrument i8o # about the optical axis.
