Die Erfindung bezweckt, metallene Gegenstände, die zu elektrochemischenoder chemischen Reaktionen, insbesondere solcher unter Druck oder bei höheren Temperaturen, verwendet werden, widerstandsfähig gegen die Einwirkung vieler chemischer Agentien, namentlich von Säuren, zu machen. Die Erfindung besteht darin, daß man die Gegenstände, z. Die Widerstandfähigkeit eines solchen Überzuges läßt sich noch erheblich vergrößern, wenn man ihn vorürergehend einer höheren Temperatur aussetzt, durch die er geschmolzen wird. Zweckmäßig ist es, den Gegenstand danach nochmals mit einer dünnen Silberbromidschicht zu überziehen, damit etwaige bei der Abkühlung der geschmolzenen Silberbromidschicht entstandene Risse wiederum mit Silberbromid ausgefüllt werden.
