Chlorid in Lösung, so findet zunächst keine Abscheidung statt.
fortlaufend
in Chlorid übergeführt werden. In diesem .Fallee..
geht.In hydrochloric acid or chloride solution, the copper becomes C8. on; the cathode deposited, if = is the same as chlorine urine solution. If the copper is in solution as chloride, there is initially no separation. The chloride is reduced to chlorine by the cathodic current effect: and only then is deposited as Cu. A part of the dull cathode current is consumed for this reduction work. The chlorine formed can be continuously converted into chloride by adding suitable oxidizing agents. In this "case", there would be no deposit at all on the cathode, while on the anode Ktup # t, -. R, gnd nickel would constantly go into solution. While in the past the solution was depleted in copper and had to be artificially supplied with copper, this process can even increase the copper content. In large, betiob can. the process can be carried out in such a way that only that amount of copper is deposited on the cathode that goes into solution on the anode. To carry out the process, it is advantageous to proceed as follows: A copper nickel iron is used as the soluble anode, e.g. B. of the composition 30 percent copper and 7o Pmozent nickel, a copper cathode is used to atbscheidu: ng the copper. A solution of 135 g of crystallized copper chloride in 25 percent hydrochloric acid per liter - 5 percent of dissolved copper is used as the electrolyte. When power is supplied using a suitable current, the diohte goes to or anode at .very low voltage copper and nickel as chlorine in solution, while at the cathode only a reduction for the time being. of the electrolyte to chlorine takes place. The copper content of the solution increases accordingly ". When the reduction is largely over, copper begins to deposit on the cathode, and: the 1, copper content - the 1 stingy absorbs aly. If the copper content, for example, increases 4 per cent has fallen, so that the chlorine is converted back into chloride by the addition of chlorine, whereby the copper deposition decreases and the copper content of the solution is increased again, etc. If the solution is sufficiently enriched in nickel in this continuous process, it becomes they are processed on nickel using known processes. Instead of the temporary supply of chlorine, a constant supply of carbon can also take place Can deposit cathode than goes into solution at the anode.
