Description

Process for the addition of hydrogen to unsaturated compounds in liquid state. The invention relates to the addition of hydrogen to unsaturated compounds in the liquid state using of supported catalysts.

After having found a number of substances to be useful as a carrier material one endeavored to find the inner relationships of these substances to one another, which their suitability for. justify this intended use. One came to the Believes that the main focus is on the possible porosity of the carrier materials -, must verden, as she z. B. Diatomite, charcoal, fuller's earth, etc. have; because It was said that such materials, because of their porosity, had the greatest possible surface development and therefore for the largest possible spread of the catalytically active bletalles should be best suited. As a result, carriers are different Species, which have occasionally also been suggested, have so far been given less attention so that they withdrew in practical application to damage the technical Progress. because among the less porous materials there are those that compared to the previously used catalyst carriers, especially in the case of catalysis with liquids, z. B. in fat hardening, offer very significant advantages.

The relationships are aptly illustrated by a few comparative tests between cement, trass and slate flour on the one hand and the diatomite, which has hitherto been widely used as a catalyst carrier, on the other. 20 cc of the cement powder used weighed 27.13 g 20 - - - Trasses - = 8.63 g 20 - - - Slate flour - 12.50 g 2o - the - diatomaceous earth - 4-589. When using the above substances as carriers for nickel catalysts in fat hardening, the unforeseeable finding was made that the specifically considerably heavier carriers made of cement, trass or slate powder gave just as good catalytic performance as the specifically much lighter kieselguhr powder, while they did the latter considerably exceeded in so far as they retained much smaller amounts of fat when they were filtered off after hardening was complete.

Während von solchen Stoffen bisher bloß Ton, Bimsstein und Talk angewendet worden sind, die deshalb hier nicht mitbeansprucht werden, eröffnet die neue Regel eine weitere Auswahl besonders vorteilhafter Katalysatorträger.10 g each of the powders under consideration were introduced into hot oil and then filtered off on the suction filter. It was found that io g liieselgur: 22.2.-01, that is, over zoo percent of his own weight, held back, while sebum values were determined for the other specifically heavier powders: lo g cement took 2.62 g 01 to 26 percent xo g trass - 1.3 g - - _ = z3 - = above slate flour - 2.5 g - - - 25 - The rule of the present invention is based on this to use finely ground silicates as a catalyst carrier for hydrogen attachment to unsaturated compounds in the liquid state, of which 20 ccm in dust form weigh more than 12 g. While only clay, pumice stone and talc have been used of such substances so far, which are therefore not included here, the new rule opens up a further selection of particularly advantageous catalyst carriers.
