Description

Process for the removal of soot deposits and oxide crusts from the heating surfaces of cast iron articulated kettles. The invention relates to a method for removing soot deposits and oxide layers from the heating surfaces of cast iron Articulated boiler. This cleaning has so far been carried out in such a way that after dismantling of the sectional boiler up the heating surfaces of the individual parts with a hammer and brush have been processed for the most complete cleaning possible. Such a procedure requires a lot of work and expense. This drawback is resolved by the method according to the invention remedied by the fact that after filling the articulated boiler with water, the heating surfaces repeatedly irradiated with the flame of an oxy-fuel welding torch and After each irradiation the burned residues are brushed off until the entire The layer has been removed and the bare boiler wall is visible. The quick one Heat transfer from the irradiated boiler wall to the water in the boiler prevents dangerous casting stresses. To carry out the process, autogenic Welding systems of any kind can be used. In the case of particularly considerable soot deposits The new process offers the great advantage that the boiler cleaning is quick and easy carried out thoroughly, if necessary also carried out without significant operational disruption can be.
