Abstract
Electrically conducting material comprises a polymer which has adsorbed a sulphide (I) of Cu, Co, Sn, Hg or Pb and a sulphide (II) of Ag, Au or a platinum group element. The polymer is free of nitrile gps.. The polymer is a polypeptide, e.g. silk or wool, polyamide, polyester, polycarbonate, polyamide-imide, polyurethane, polyvinyl alcohol, polyether, e.g. polyethylene oxide, or polyphenol. (I) is used in an amount to give 0.5-30 wt.% metal based on polymer. The atomic ratio of (I):(II) is 1:0.001-0.3. The compsn. also contains Ni or Fe sulphide.
