Abstract

The pump inner stator supports an eccentrically mounted rotary housing, which carries a number of hinged vanes (9.3) which are pressed by springs (10.3) onto the stator surface. At low rotational speeds the springs are sufficiently powerful to keep the vanes in contact with the stator. Thus the pump can produce a high degree of vacuum. As speed increases centrifugal force overcomes the spring force and the vanes swing away from the stator into housing recesses (8) so that no vacuum is generated.
