Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf die Herstellung von Gliederheizkörpern, deren Glieder aus hohlgepreßten Halbschalen bestehen und betrifft ein Verfahren, bei dem die Schwierigkeit der dampf- und flüssigkeitsdichten Vereinigung der Verbindungsnaben zwischen den einzelnen Gliedern dadurch beseitigt wird, daß je zwei benachbarte zu verschiedenen Gliedern gehörige Halbschalen zunächst an ihren Verbindungsnaben miteinander durch Schweißung, Falzung o. dgl. verbunden und darauf mit den zugehörigen Halbschalen an den Umfangsrändern verschweißt werden. Bei dem bisher üblich gewesenen Verfahren machte das Verbinden der fertig geschweißten Glieder beträchtliche Schwierigkeit. Schraubenverbindungen erfordern die Anwendung zusätzlicher Teile, bewirken eine zirkulationshindernde Verengung des Durchganges und bedingen eine besondere Montagearbeit. Unbedingt zuverlässig sind Schraubenverbindungen nur in seltenen Fällen.
