A system for diluting highly viscous solutions of blood constituents, comprising a container (1) which is filled with a diluent sterilized therein, and, adjacent thereto, a connecting member (3), provided with a puncturing spike (5), for supplying the diluent to preserved blood consisting of a highly viscous solution of blood constituents, as well an interposed closure member (6, 13) which is to be opened from the outside and is kept sterile vis-à-vis the surrouding atmosphere, wherein the container (1) filled with the diluent is deformable, and the connecting member (3) is provided with a check valve (7).
