Abstract

1. A toothbrush (1) with a subdivided handle, one handle portion (3) firmly connected to the brush member (2) being adapted to be detachably connected to a plug portion and the plug portion taking the form of a receptacle (4) or etui into which the bristle or brush member (2) together with the fixed handle portion (3) fits, the fixed handle portion (3) being widened at its end as a coupling portion (5) and being disposed off-centre or eccentrically with respect to the coupling portion (5), the brush (2) together with the handle portion (3) lying inside the receptacle (4) closer to one receptacle wall (12) and leaving between itself and the other opposite receptacle wall (13) a space for inserting a tube of toothpaste (14) or the like and in the position for use outside the receptacle (4) departing laterally from the middle of one of the narrow end faces (10) of the receptacle (4), characterized in that the receptacle (4) is provided with a cover (6) which is adapted to be snapped open or slipped over, that the coupling member (5) has grooves or slots (7) averted from one another into which the edges (8) of an opening (9) in the wall (10) of on the one hand the lower portion (11) and on the other hand the upper portion (6) of the receptacle (4) engage and fit when the receptacle is closed, and that in the position for use the brush (2) together with the handle portion (3) extends approximately in continuation or near the continuation of one of the longer side walls (12) of the receptacle.
