Description

Filtertuch zum Entwässern flüssiger keramischer Massen.Filter cloth for dewatering liquid ceramic masses.

The drainage of liquid porcelain and other ceramic masses for the purpose of conversion into the malleable state takes place in filter presses Use of filter cloths made of cotton, linen, jute or otherwise suitable Fibrous fabrics. As a result of the rough texture of these fabrics, the press cakes stick on the filter cloth and can only be removed easily when the fabric is impregnated is. So far, copper oxy-ammonia has been used as the impregnating agent, through which the e Tissue threads are attacked on the surface and smoothed. This shows, however the disadvantage that after prolonged use the chemically attacked layer of the Filter cloth due to the adherence of the fine mass particles retained during the filtering process and is strongly worn by the mechanical pressure of the ceramic mass, consequently very soon the cake cakes no longer stand out easily from the filter cloth permit. Another disadvantage is the phenomenon that those with copper oxide ammonia impregnated filter cloths quickly take on a dirty blue color and therefore often long before they are completely worn out by the worker as no longer usable to be viewed and eliminated.

To remedy these deficiencies are according to the invention for drainage liquid ceramic mass filter cloths used which contain zinc chloride or Zinc fluoride are impregnated. This impregnation; caused by stronger cornification ! the outer fabric fibers a better smoothing of the surface of the filter cloth. Therefore, the mass cakes can be impregnated with zinc chloride or zinc fluoride Filter cloths are much easier to lift off than from those treated in a known manner Weaving, and the property of good releasability, is increased by frequent use of the filter cloth is much less reduced than when using copper oxide ammonia as an impregnating agent. In addition, the impregnation comes with zinc chloride or zinc fluoride cheaper and does not make the filter cloths so unsightly even with repeated use, than was previously the case.
