Der Zweck dieses Geräthes ist der, beim Unterpflügen ■ einige Zoll unterhalb der Oberfläche des Bodens die Wurzeln der Unkrautpflanzen zu vernichten. Die beiliegende Zeichnung stellt das Aeufsere des Geräthes vollständig dar. Wie aus der Zeichnung zu ersehen, ist die Hauptstellung die eines gewöhnschen schwanenhalsigen Pfluges, doch ist statt des gewöhnlichen Pflugschars und des Pflugmessers derjenige Theil, welcher im Boden arbeiten soll, durch eine rechtwinklige Stahlschiene A gebildet, welche an der Vorderkante angeschärft ist. Diese Stahlschiene, die circa zwei Ellen lang ist, trägt an beiden Seiten ein schräg gestelltes, aufrecht stehendes Messer B, dessen scharfer Rand vorwärts gerichtet ist und das in seiner Stellung von zwei Hülfsschienen C, welche am schwanenhalsigen Pflugbalken D befestigt sind, unterstützt wird. Dem hinteren, umgebogenen Ende E des Pflugbalkens ist, wie aus der Zeichnung hervorgeht, gleichfalls eine scharfkantige Form gegeben, und seine Spitze ist an der Mitte der vorerwähnten Stahlschiene A fest mit dieser verbunden. Das am vorderen Ende des Pflugbalkens angebrachte Rad F kann sich in gröfserer. oder kleinerer Entfernung von dem Pflugbalken befinden und mittelst einer Schraube G befestigt werden.The purpose of this device is to destroy the roots of the weed plants when plowing under ■ the surface of the ground.
