Bei Ausdehnung der Untersuchungen über den Einfluß der Seitenketten der Sulfosäuren der Amido- und Diamidophenole auf ihre photographischen Entwicklereigenschaften auf die Sulfosäuren der Amido- und Diamidokresole wurde gefunden, daß diese Verbindungen in ihren ätzalkalischen Lösungen dieselben hervorragenden Entwicklereigenschaften besitzen, wie ihre Stammsubstanzen, die in dem Patent 328617 genannt sind. Vor allem ist auch bei diesen Verbindungen bemerkenswert das große, noch bei keiner anderen Entwicklersubstanz beobachtete Ausgleichsvermögen bei den verschiedensten Belichtungsunterschieden, so daß Fehlresultate innerhalb der in der Praxis vorkommenden Belichtungsfehler so gut wie ausgeschlossen sind. Da die Gegenwart der Methylgruppe im Kern der Verbindungen eine geringe Verzögerung der Entwicklungsgeschwindigkeit bedingt, so arbeiten diese Verbindungen besonders weich, wobei bei der Möglichkeit einer langen schleier freien Entwicklung in den Schatten besonders viel herausgeholt werden kann, ohne daß die Lichter zu kreidig werden.
